At St. Christopher's Co-operative Preschool, we believe that all children bring gifts and need to be valued, accepted and included. We provide a stimulating, safe and happy learning environment which will foster growth in all developmental areas. Throughout the school year, we provide opportunities for children to enhance their social skills by teaching them how to resolve conflicts appropriately, to play fairly by sharing, taking turns and trading and by building self confidence, self esteem and independence. With these building blocks, our intent is to ensure that your child has a seamless transition into elementary school.

Please allow us to share some of the feedback we've received from parents of our students on our Testimonials page.

In our constant efforts to provide a first rate preschool experience for both the children who attend the preschool and their families. St. Christopher's is a member of Quality First. Please check out Our Program for more details on this program and how it supports our mission at St. Christopher's.

St.Christopher's Cooperative Preschool accepts children with special needs. We embrace inclusion and celebrate diversity as a means to foster the well being of every child. We include children with disabilities in approximate proportion to their presence in the population.

If your child has special needs, please contact us to discuss the opportunity for your child to prosper in our program.

Our Program

St Christophers Co-operative Preschool is an inclusive, safe and inspiring environment. Growth is nurtured in all developmental areas by allowing children to create, inquire and explore through play. We operate a play based emergent curriculum in line with Ministry of Education. This is a great program as a stepping stone to JK/SK.

We offer 2 and 3 morning programs (9am to 12pm) for children ages 2.5 years – 5 years. Our program operates from September to mid June. Fees are calculated based on number of class days and divided equally over the 10 months.

Quality First is a community driven initiative providing all licensed preschool programs in Halton region with the opportunity to participate in a developmental model for quality improvement.

    • Develop the professionalism of its teachers, who create and implement programs for our preschool.
    • Strive for continual improvement in our classroom.
    • Collaborate with local college programs in promoting the professional growth of our teaching staff.
    • Support others in child care programs and be supported by the community in order to encourage the positive development of children.
    • Support our parents, so that they can select and evaluate the programs their children are in and ensure that our program meets their child's needs.
    • Build on existing structures in the community to implement these actions in conjunction with projects such as “Our Kids Network” and the “Best Start Network”.

    From Google reviews...
The teacher's are lovely and have been supportive in helping my quiet and anxious child become comfortable in a "school like" setting. It's also a play-based learning program similar to the Ontario JK/SK program, but with with a higher ratio of adults to children. Being a cooperative program, I've found the cost and commitment on the part of the parents to be minimal.
We couldn't be happier with the program at St. Christopher's Preschool. Our daughter has grown so much academically and socially since attending in September. The teacher's provide a welcoming and caring environment that encourages the children to discover the world around them. As an educator myself I have expectations in a learning environment which this preschool greatly exceeds. The experiences my child takes home from this preschool will help to prepare her for kindergarten and ensure a smooth transition into an elementary school environment. We will continue to send our daughter to St. Christopher's next fall and send our younger daughter when she is old enough.
What a wonderful place! For our daughter's FIRST away from home experience, we couldn't have asked for more. Amazing staff, small class sizes, great community of local families and lots of opportunity for learning and play. My daughter has medical issues that require special care and attention. The lovely staff have been warm, kind and very able to manage her needs. I feel very confident that she is in safe environment that she can develop all of the skills she will need to ready her for her next steps to kindergarten. So happy to have found this gem in Burlington.
We have been a part of the St. Christopher's family for 3 years now. My daughter attended starting at age 2.5. I was nervous, being that she had never been enrolled in a program away from family. Her social skills and independence blossomed under the care of the dedicated teachers. She started JK this year and the transition was easy. I credit that to her time spent at St. Christopher's. Now my son attends St. Christopher's. The program appeals to his busy and inquisitive nature. As the younger sibling, I see him developing leadership and independence. Our son has one more year at the school and we will be sad when it is over.
Both of my children went to St. Christopher's Preschool. It is a small and caring community with a great student-to-teacher ratio. The teachers are amazing and they really helped my youngest come out of his shell. They teach age-appropriate social, play and academic skills (like pre-reading/writing, art, etc.) in a fun environment that we reinforce at home, and the skills that they learn helped them with their transition to JK. I would highly recommend St. Christopher's Preschool to any family looking for a great preschool experience with caring teachers.
The staff are very professional and responsive to the needs of each individual child. The social development for our 2-year old has been fantastic over the past year, he has made friends and learned how to play with children his own age. The teaching style is child focused play based learning and the ratios of teachers to students are very good. The community is welcoming and we would highly recommend people to this pre-school.
